Gregg Zoll lived his life with love, determination, and a healthy dose of humor. He passed away from complications of cancer on Wednesday, Dec 8 at 6:34 pm in San Diego, CA, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Gregg lived for his family. He was a dedicated and loving father. Gregg is survived by his wife Rosie, his four children Bridgette, Max, Isabelle, and Brooklyn, his parents Jim and Joyce Zoll, and his sisters Sara Draeger and Lisa Scheppmann. Following his passing, his house was packed with family, friends, and loved ones - a testament to the powerful bonds he built with people throughout his life.

Gregg grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with Green Bay Packers royalty. His grandfather and great uncle were on the first Packers professional football team. He grew up going to games at Lambeau Field, popping into the players locker room regularly and even meeting legendary quarterback Bart Starr. Gregg attended college at UW-Stout where he multi majored in construction management / Bar fighting / Shot (tequila) management /football, and where he met many of his amazing lifelong friends. As an adult, he continued to work hard and play hard. He loved to travel and was always seeking out the next fun adventure. At home, he was never without a tool, a to-do list, or a grill spatula.

He was a born leader - from his earliest days on football teams, to his impressive and celebrated career. He was recognized as one of the nation’s most experienced and skilled health care project managers. His work included project management leadership roles at Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Hoag Hospital, and UCLA. In 2017, he got his dream job as Vice President of Sharp HealthCare’s Facilities Management and Development (FMD) Division. There, he led cutting edge and innovative projects with an unfailing commitment to sustainability and equity.

Throughout his life, Gregg took people under his wing, championing and supporting those in his life to help them meet their greatest potential, and celebrating their successes. From those who worked with him, to family members, to fellow teammates, he always had an encouraging word, a spare room when needed, and a helping hand. For many, Gregg was their rock, exuding calm, strength, and stability even in the hardest of times. He was an incredibly hard worker, who with determination and grit built a career, home, and family that he was proud of. He brought people together wherever he went, fostering joy and friendship, and always ready with a joke.

We will honor Gregg’s passing in the way he lived his life - surrounded by friends, a tequila shot in hand, and watching a Packers game. We hope you can join us.
